The market is huge and is divided into sections so that the stalls offering vegetables are assembled side by side and those who sell rice, corn and grain in the same way is in the same section. In addition to large sections of meat and fish, there are also whole sections of live animals such as chickens and turkeys, and even the goats are in the middle of the street. Market in Alecrim The sellers in the market consist largely of peasants from the countryside, who come to town with their own cultivated vegetables and for many this is the only source of income. There is in Brazil currently much focus on the health hazards of commodities trading in this way, since nothing is stored in coolers and additional requires a new law of 2010 also, that all the stalls in the market for the future must be able to demonstrate that they pay taxes. |
