Maracajaś - Rio Grande do Norte - Brazil

When the dream of a holiday home on the other side of the world turns into reality

Maracajaś have the small communities typical street life, where everybody knows everybody and for that matter also those tourists

staying more than one day in town. The local population is incredibly sweet and nice, but you will not get far with English, as only few

in the restaurants in the diving centers understand it. Conversely, people has desire to understand you and they find that if you doing

your visit in the city shows respects as a foreigner, then you the rest of your holiday will be considered as a friend and be very welcome.

Maracajaś people

I have photographed the local people, who mostly live from fishing, in some typical everyday situations when I was

going for a walk to look at life in the city. It gives a little insight into the daily life that fills the local life and not l

east the friendliness faced one on its way through town.

In town, you meet all the locals when buying in one of

those small shops or when they sit together in front of the house and talking. You can also meet people on the road

into the city where small lakes are used for play and laundry or at small primitive pubs on the main street and when the fishermen are relaxing in their boat or stand and take care

of their catch.
