Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art without body contact, which is based on dance and music. Originally developed by slaves in Brazil and therefore for many years a forbidden dance. In 1974, Capoeira approved as a national sport in Brazil and today they also use it for rallying point for many volunteer projects, which through schooling and Capoeira helps some of the neediest children.
MCN, in the poorer district of Bom Pastor, is a private organization, who, to collect funds to the project, holds Capoeira shows for tourists. Most travel companies have weekly evening trips to the area, which should only be visited on organized tours. An exciting evening where you really can see what new life content makes for poor children.
